Video Editing Software for MacBook Pro Sierra

Greetings and Salutations All,

I just purchased a new MacBook Pro (Sierra) and am searching for a decent, hobby level video editing suite. iMovie just is not full featured enough, and Final Cut Pro is overkill and over budget. I just like tweeking my home vids and have no aspirations of doing anything more than that...

I just migrated over from a PC laptop (don't hate - loved my iPad and iPhone 7+ enough to make the leap ) and I was using Studio 14. Looking for something similarly featured and priced...

Any recommendations and personal experiences would be very much appreciated.
