Body of drafts in Mail keep disappearing

I've recently got a new MacBook Pro and the body of the text in my drafts folder in Mail keeps disappearing. I can see it in the preview but as soon as I open the draft, the body of the text disappears and the preview is replaced with 'This message has no content'. The email window which has opened will usually then freeze.

 

Any ideas on what to do to resolve this?
