YouTube app is stuck in fullscreen

Sometimes (at random) the YouTube App (Version 12.35) will not allow me to get out of fullscreen mode.

Meaning: pressing the button (the fullscreen/exit fullscreen button) does absolutely nothing. Gestures (using two fingers to do a “pinch”) does nothing either.

The video does play however, and onscreen the cards (where you can choose to watch a new video or subscribe, if made available by the YouTuber) and autoplay (YouTubes function, that automatically finds new videos and plays them) works as well.

But, the only way i can get out of fullscreen-mode again, is to shut down the app, from the app switcher and then open it again. Rebooting, force rebooting and reinstalling does not seem to have any effect.

I am using an iPad Air, with iOS 11 installed, but the issue was present when i used iOS 10 as well.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
