Sending email

Still configuring mail. Any help would be appreciated.

When sending email, is there a keyboard shortcut I can use? I've looked and it instructs to press the up arrow, command and the letter "D". Cant get this to work. Can anybody help?

Command-J sends email. Also if you didn't have this link already, there are plenty of useful shortcuts here.

And finally if you don't see a shortcut you can create your own. Here are instructions.

I tried what you sent. I couldn't get that to work. The link you sent me (and I saved) that shows Mac OSX keyboard shortcuts helped. When an UP arrow is displayed in a hint, that means "shift".

The command to send email is:
ShiftCommandD

Tried that and it worked first time.

I apologize it looks like Command J was a keyboard shortcut I created on my own. You can follow the article to create your own shortcut if you want. It's really easy to do and you can reduce the amount of keystrokes from the Shift-Command-D. I use keyboard shortcuts for all kinds of stuff, especially helpful for Safari for bookmarked I frequently visit.

It is Command Shift D.  If you look at the arrow up, it is a shift key, not the actual arrow up.  Hits like this are on macs website for keyboard shortcuts at the very top. Mac keyboard shortcuts - Apple Support

The symbol you were looking at was not "up arrow" but "shift key." So, to send mail by keyboard shortcut, it's "command, shift, d".

That Up Arrow symbol got me too!  Try Command/Shift/D. That worked for me to send e-mail.

  • Press Command-Shift-D (think deliver).
