When to charge iPad?

Hi i have the new iPad pro 12.9 2017 and i was wondering when should i charge it to maintain the best battery life, as well as preventing any damages. I'm not sure but I've heard from other threads that leaving your iPad to turn itself off (due to low battery) will cause damage. I would like to know if that is true and when i should charge, how long etc. Also can the iPad be overcharged when charging overnight?

Hi. I charge my iPad Air when I get the 10% or 5% warning, and leave it until fully charged. I have no provlems with battery life. Letting the iPad run until it shuts off is not good, though it actually shuts off before the battery is damaged (self-defense).

You cannot overcharge an iPad. The charging regulator is inside the device, and it cuts off power when the battery is fully charged.
