ical will not update

iCal Version 9.0 (2155.21) will not update Google calendars. iMac w/OSSierra 10.12.6. Problem started yesterday 8/25/17 morning. Tried switching off Calendar and Reminders in System Preference>iCloud, waiting a minute, switching Calender and Reminders back on, and restarting computer. iCal acts as if it is not connecting to the Internet-- will not move calendars to the server account. Other applications on iMac connecting the Internet without a problem. MacBook Pro iCal working fine. iPhone iCal working fine.
