OS X Sierra comes up as version 10.9.5

I upgraded my MacBook Air to Sierra but my system properties list the OS as version 10.9.5.

What year is your Air?

The installation fails. I get an alert "This software is not supported on your system".

Also Ckuan, When I go to the App Store, macOS Sierra comes up as "Installed". How can I download and run it again?

You meant the firmware?

If so, you do not have a mid 2012 MacBook Air, or maybe it's already updated.

After update EFI ROM will be: MBA51.00EF.B02
