Cannot set Page Setup defaults for textEdit

When I try to set the default page setup in text Edit, I do NOT have a set defaults entry in the drop down menu.  I'm using it from this screen:

I am expecting to get a set as default option in the drop down menu "page Attributes" but I only have the one option.

I'm using macOS Sierra v 10.12.5 .

(This is a significant problem because I'm having problems producing PDFs from another piece of software (FinalDraft 9).  The PDF produced is scaled wrongly and landscape.  FinalDraft tell me the solution is to set my default page setup in textEdit - but I can't!).

Any ideas?

Laurence

I suggest instead of using File > Page Setup in TextEdit, try File > Print instead.

That will yield the following:

You may then click on and modify your Presets.

Thanks very much!  That is really helpful, and I can edit my presets.  I can also make one of my custom presets the default one used by textEdit.

But what I don't seem to be able to do is edit the actual 'Default Settings' - none of the options respond to a click or anything and the 'delete' and 'duplicate' buttons are greyed out and if I try to save over it my file gets renamed.  Any ideas how I can edit the actual preset 'Default Settings'?

Unfortunately that is what I seem to need to do to solve my problem with Final Draft.
