Itunes 12.7 will not open following update

I downloaded the mac software update today and can no longer open my itunes. The application does not respond and I have to force quit it everytime I try opening it. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or will there be an update to solve this issue?

Macbook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)

Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB
