Activate lock sound and others

I am using an iPad Pro running IOS 10.3.3. I am unable to activate either the lock sound, keyboard sound or external power sound. I have gone to settings>sounds>lock sound and restarted my device, all to no avail. My speakers are otherwise functional and the volume is set to max. Am I missing something, or is this an operating system bug?
