best practice for mail rule message content

Hello,

I am having trouble getting my rule to find the proper messages. I need to separate my work emails for more efficient access and reference. The smart mailbox works perfectly but the rule choices don't have the same selections as the smart mailbox and I cannot move them to a new folder nor change the color, etc. Ideally, I would like to move everything the smart mailbox finds to a different folder, change the color, then alert me when new mail comes in. But that would involve an Apple Script that I do not know how to write.

So, my question is...

In the Message Content rule, can have it search for key words in this format...

Or, do I need a separate message content rule for each keyword? Because as this, it is not finding everything and even as separate it is not finding everything, despite those keyword being contained in the message content, subject and signature.

Is there some kind of best practice guide for setting up rules that gets into detail on each rule choice?

Also, this is more for the App development folks, could you include the options & choices for creating Smart Mailboxes in the rule choices? That would be a tremendous help! Especially selecting messages from a certain date, much better on the Smart Mailbox than the Rules. Ideally, I only ned the messages from a specific date, not just within or over a few days.
