New Iwatch setup

Trying to set up new Iwatch and stuck at the "enter your Password - to unlock I have to enter my password - I tried the same iphone unlock password (numerical) and my iwatch does not recognize the number  - I'm locked out, asked to attempt again in 15 mins :-/

When asked to enter a passcode on Apple Watch, enter your Apple Watch passcode (including when setting one up).

 

When asked to enter a passcode on your iPhone, enter your iPhone passcode.

 

If you have set and then forgotten your Apple Watch passcode, then follow these steps to erase your locked Apple Watch and re-pair it with your iPhone:

 

  • Connect your watch to its charging cable, connected to power.
  • Whilst keeping your Apple Watch on the charger:
    • Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider.
    • Press firmly on Power Off (do not try to slide it - just press down more firmly than a normal tap), release your finger and then tap on Erase all content and settings.
  • Pair your watch using the Watch app on your iPhone, choosing to Restore from Backup if offered the option.
