Connecting MacBook Pro with touch bar via USB

I was wondering if anyone has been successfully able to connect the new line of MacBook Pros with a Yamakasi Catleap or similar 2560 x 1440 external monitor via USB-C?

Previously I used the apple dual link dvi connector, and I was thinking that I might be able to get a usb-c to hdmi adapter instead to cut down on the number of adapters.

I have a 15 inch 2016 MacBook pro with Radeon Pro 455 2048 MB.

Thanks.

Hi,

Here is Apple's adapter: USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter - Apple

Hi,

Here is another one, just HDMI: USB Type-C to HDMI Adapter - 4K | USB-C Video Adapters | StarTech.com

There are a number of others if you google for thunderbolt 3 usb-c to hdmi adapter

Yes!  I was able to connect my Macbook Pro 2017 with Touchbar to my Yamakasi Catleap Dual-Link DVI monitor by keeping the Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter connected but using this additional adapter:

Amazon.com: USB Type C Adapter,ITANDA USB C Type to Mini DisplayPort/Mini DP Adapter Cable With Aluminium Case Support 4…

With this adapter connected, I get the full native resolution of the monitor (2560x1440 @60 HZ).  I thought it wasn't working at first, but that was because I hadn't firmly seated the connectors together.  You have to really push the adapter plug in to get it to work.
