Mac OS 10.12.6 iMessages not launching

Hi,

I've recently moved to a Macbook Pro with OS 10.12.6. I imported all my data using Time Machine last night and ever since, iMessages doesn't launch on my laptop. It's working fine on the iPhone.

I read a few messages on the community and there were suggestions of validating fonts, undocking the application, opening from Applications folder, Disk Utility repair and restarting. I've done all of these but it still doesn't launch.

Would appreciate some expert advice.
