Use my 2012 iMac as a display for 2006 Mac mini?

Can I use my iMac (Late 2012 21.5") as a display for my Mac mini (2006 1.66 Ghz Intel Core Duo)?

if so, what adapters are needed? I still have the DVI to VGA adapter that shipped with the Mac mini. I don't need audio functionality.

iMac (late 2012 21.5") is not on the list of iMacs that support Target Display Mode.

Using your iMac, You could remote into the Mac mini. But you would need a TV or monitor that supports DVI or VGA to set this up. And remote access isn't mean to be a replacement for a monitor.

What are you trying to do? Use the mac mini? Or just get your data off?
