Is there still support and updates for the ipad...

I am looking at purchasing a used ipad 2 9.7 with wifi and gsm/gps but want to be sure that there is still support for this device or is not worth putting money into?

The iPad 2 cannot be updated beyond iOS 9.3.5 (the current version of iOS is 10.3.3).

I have one that I purchased when it first was released and it is still usable but whether to recommend buying one now would depend on your needs now and in the future.

Entire app support for the iPad 2, 3, 4 and 1st gen iPad Mini is going too end soon with the introduction of iOS 11 coming in the Fall 2017.

So, purchasing an iPad 2 at this very late stage is a waste of money.

Take your cash and purchase a brand new 2017, iPad 5, instead.

A 32 Gbs model will cost $329 U.S.D.. A 128 GBs model will cost $429 U.S.D.

This will be up to date and it will receive iOS AND app updates for, at least, another 5 years, or so.
