iTune incorrectly classified media files

What is the best solution to correcting when iTunes incorrectly marks a music file with "Movie" Media Kind?

In attempting to come up with a solution I realize there is no way to correct this through the UI, of like media kind are allowed.  Additionally, removing the item from the library and resubmitting seems unlikely to be successful, as something is telling iTunes to do this, at least I imagine so.

Only thing I can be certain of, this was not a new file, I have files stored on a NAS that occasionally disconnects and as such I need to relocate library and reorganize every so often.

So I guess my options are:

1) Mess with base file metadata, then resubmit, but what metadata drives iTunes classifications?

2) Perhaps some third party tool exists out there that can correct this without the pain of removing?

3) Deal with it, obviously not ideal.
