Activation Lock Bypass

Hello All, I have just recently purchased an iPhone 6S Plus in Rose Gold/White with 16GB HD for my daughter. I bought the phone through a Facebook group and when I met with the young lady to pick the phone up I turned it on and the first item that appeared was the Language selection so I assumed the phone was ready to be set up as new as the lady said she had just wiped it clean for me. Since I had seen this screen before on both my wifes and I newly purchased iPhones I assumed all was well and we parted ways. The next morning I started the setup process for my daughters new phone only to find that the "Activation Lock" is activated on this phone. I then logged into my Facebook and went to the group I found the phone in but the posting for the phone has been removed and with that the contact name for the lady I met with to purchase the iPhone. I have spoken to the Administrators of the group page but this led me nowhere. After some due diligence, which I regretfully wish I had done before purchasing a used iPhone, I have found that the only way for the Activation Lock to be removed is by the original purchaser of the phone via the "Find My iPhone" app. Here lies the problem at hand, I have no way of contacting the woman now and have no clue as to how I can turn off the Activation Lock so that I can set this phone up for my daughter. Does anyone have any idea on how I can turn this off to set the phone up as new? Thank you all and have a great day.

Unless you're able to track the seller down, you can't. It's an anti-theft measure.

Sorry to tell you this, but there is no way around the Activation Lock. Only the person who put the lock on, or someone who knows that person's Apple ID and password can remove it. There is no way around this.

If you contact the Facebook group Administrator, is there any way you can get a refund? If not, then you won't be able to set up the device.

Here is an article that tells you what you need to do to ensure that when you are purchasing a 2nd hand device that you have a device that is not Activation locked (see the "Check for Activation Lock before you buy a device from someone else" section):
