Can I migrate all my stuff to a single account?

I already migrated my mom's stuff from her old MacBook Pro (mid 2013, quit working on her) to her new iMac (brand new) and I created a new account just for me. Can I copy all of the items on my MacBook Air (mid 2015) over to my user account, and only my user account? Because I don't want to begin the transfer process and accidentally write over all of my mom's stuff.

Both computers are running 10.12.6.

Yes, but I wouldn't use migration. Manually move over your data. You can either clone your drive or copy over the folders with your dat (Desktop, Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures and your User's Library) You won't need everything in your User's Library but copy all so you'll have everything needed.

Attach the external drive with your data to the new iMac. While logged into your User, you can drag items to the correct folders except for the User's Library.

Let's discuss what's needed and how to incorporate your data in your User's Library when you get to that step.

Software used to Clone: both are free to do your clone.

CCC https://www.bombich.com/download.html  (has free 30 day demo)

SuperDuper! https://www.shirt-pocket.com/  (free to do a straight erase and clone - purchase to get scheduled backups)

Show User's Library

The User's Library folder is hidden by default. To unhide:

Option 1) Select the Finder in the Dock. Under Go in the Menu bar > hold down the Option key and you’ll see the Library.

Option 2) You can also select the Home folder in the sidebar of a Finder window.

Pull down the “View” menu and select “Show View Options”

Check the box for “Show Library Folder”

See if this helps.
