Do apps get stored to the cloud when you want t...

I want to buy a new ipad, but I have so many apps on my existing ipad that I don't want to lose.  Do apps get stored to the cloud?  If so, is it easy to restore them?

3rd party apps from the app store are not stored in the cloud but will be marked as (already) purchased and available for download from your Apple ID account.

If the apps are still in the store you will be able to redownload them (or if you restore to a backup, e.g. if you want their content, the restore should automatically download the apps that it can)

backup your ipad.  Restore from the backup.  Keep you old ipad around until you have all your stuff transferred.

If you have an iTunes installation on a computer (Mac preferred) and you have downloaded the apps on said iTunes so a copy of the installer for each app is found in that iTunes' Library (as well as all the other content that does not get stored in the iCloud backup such as songs, movies, pictures, etc.) then when the new device is Restored from a backup made and stored locally with password on that iTunes, the end result will be an identical configuration and content as the original.

In Ye Olde Days, when you backed up an iGadget on iTunes all the content would be copied onto the computer as well, but that is no longer the case so you need to do it manually.

Also beware to do the backing up onto the computer's local drive with password, else personal data does not get backed up or restored.

Thanks Jimmy That was helpful.

Thanks for the help
