iMac 27 Dual monitor colour calibration

Hi,

I have a late 2015 iMac 27" with an ASUS monitor attached to it with thunderbold 2 to HDMI adaptor.

I calibrate each monitor using an XRite Colormunky and all is great! Colours match and are accurate.  All in all everything works perfect.

However something very strange happens when I turn off and startup the computer the next time: if the second monitor is off, then the iMac's color profile reverts to the factory default calibration, until I turn on the ASUS again and then the iMac's setting is updated correctly to the calibrated profile I had created with the color munky. Do you know if there is a solution to this? I often need to work with a single monitor and colour calibration is really important to me since I am editing videos on this workstation.

Nightshift and auto brightness settings are off.
