Macbook Pro 2017 keyboard improvements?

Very likely a futile search.

I recently got a 13 in. 2017 Macbook Pro (sans Touch bar). I use my computer as a laptop so getting a monitor and external keyboard is not going to work. My problem is I STRONGLY DISLIKE the keyboard. My last mac was a 2012 I think (?) or older. I make so many typos on this thing it's insane. I have to almost literally pound the keys to get them to register and it's A) annoying B) loud and C) can't be good for the longevity of the keyboard. Some keys are worse than others - 'A', 'F', 'E', and 'O' being my worst offenders.

Is there ANYTHING I can do to improve this? Like an external type cover that allows more travel space or something??? I personally dislike Windows so trading this in...for what? They're all like this now, aren't they?
