I am having 2 apple ids i want to merge

i created 2 apple id's unknowingly now i want to merge how can i do

It is not possible to merge Apple IDs. It is also not possible to transfer purchased content from one Apple ID to another. You could enable Family Sharing between the two, though.

I have the exact same problem and am NOT at all happy that I can't merge accounts!

Then try Family Sharing.

Not crazy about this solution either.

Life, sadly, is often like that.

That's a work around, not a solution.

When several people report that they're having the same problem? That becomes an issue that should be escalated so that a solution can be found.

Considering that we're all Apple CUSTOMERS, then it becomes a issue that also involves customer satisfaction. IF there's no answer? Then sending out unpaid volunteers who have no idea what Apple's working on for resolving this issue is not a solution. Sending out people like you who aggravate, antagonize and are making unnecessary comments? That's a black mark on Apple.

(Hope you can find a real job that pays one day where you learn that in IT, no one knows everything which is why we're constantly striving for new solutions!)

Sometimes there are no perfect "solutions". In this case the solution would be "make Apple change their policy". As no one here can make that happen, you'll either have to live with problem or use a workaround. It's your choice entirely.

If you want Apple to know how you feel, use the feedback page. They're not reading here.

Best of luck.

That does not help with iBooks, for example.

I have an expensive book on my iPad that I cannot read at my MacBook and I'm not pleased.

Why not? Are you using two different IDs on your personal devices? If you are, use Family Sharing. You should be able to share your iBooks.

Except my recent purchase is not shared, not downloadable. More than just a little bit annoying., it defeats the purpose of using iBooks

Why are you using a different Apple ID on two different devices? Unless you have a strong reason for doing so, I'd suggest using the same one on all of the devices you personally use.

I had an Apple ID before joining the cloud. I could not use that Apple ID, Apple would not let me but forced me to use a second ID. And I have lost of purchases on the old one. If I could move them to one account, I and many, many others would.

You should contact Apple Support and have them assist you in regaining access to the original account. If you work with them and are unable to do that, you can request that they move purchases to the new account. They may not grant that request but, it's worth asking after you've exhausted all other options.
