Apple Watch Does Not Make Ding Noise When Conne...
Recently my Apple Sport watch stopped making the "ding" noise when I connect the charger to it. This happened after I was changing bands and noticed two green lights on the back of the watch as I was turning the watch off. I checked the volume on both the watch and in the app on my iPhone 6S Plus and they are correct. Has anyone run into this issue?
Hi
Try restarting or, if that doesn't help, force restarting - your watch:
- Restart: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off; press and hold the side button until you see the logo.
- Force restart: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for around 10 seconds, until you see the logo.

I did both a Restart and a Force Restart. Neither helped. The watch charges, there is just no "ding" when you put the charger on the back of the watch.
When Apple Watch is muted / in Silent Mode, it will not chime when charging begins.
To check whether Mute / Silent Mode is enabled:
- On your watch, either:
- Go to: Home screen (single press on the Digital Crown) > Settings (cog icon) > Sounds & Haptics > check the Mute slider, or;
- Go to: Settings Glance (with the screen awake, swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen, then swipe left / right to the glance) > tapping the Mute / Silent Mode button (crossed out bell symbol) toggles the mode on / off.
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Sounds & Haptics > turn Silent Mode on / off.
You may have accidentally enabled Silent Mode using Cover to Mute. Once it has been enabled in this way, Silent Mode must be manually disabled. To check and change the Cover to Mute setting, go to the same screen as detailed above on your iPhone.
I discovered that somehow the mute got turned on on my iPhone. I fixed that and now the watch makes the ding sound when you put the charger on it.
I’m still not getting the charging chime. Did both restarts, turned mute on and off. Still no chime. I get all the other sounds, including the new sounds when unlocking the watch
