iOS 11 creating sync problems with phone/pad

updated to IOS 11 and huge sync problems music and podcasts to phone/ipad. Virtually had to reformat libraries. huge problem and not first time. Random allocation to library items to other files or deletion altogether. Happens time to time but this is a huge shift. Seems to relate most to items I have listened to on either device. Not sure anything can be done, but just be aware.
