connects to wifi but no browser activity

My iPad shows that it is connected to wifi but will not open browser or any webpage from my home.  However, when I took it to Apple Store it worked fine.  So I got a new modem from u-verse and it worked briefly before reverting to error that there was no connection to server.

Have you tried to reboot the router? I sometimes have to do that with mine from Cox.

Hi Mike5100. When you go to Settings > Wifi and tap on the for the current network, does it show correct IP addresses for the iPad, Router, and DNS? Also, make sure you're not using a Proxy, at the bottom of the info screen.

Turn router off for 20 /30 seconds when it's back on go to settings on ipad down to reset Reset network settings After reset enter your router wireless key.

You will find this on the back of the router.

Yes I have, even got a new router. 

IP address is different.
