How to tell if the fan is working fine?

I am using the 13" 2012 MBA.

How do I make sure if the fan is working fine?

I use SystemLoad 2.0 to put a load on it.  The CPU reaches close to 96C but I dont notice the fan is spining faster?

I try to confirm this because sometimes my machine hangs & I have to reset when play video (namely .rmvb) using videolan 2.05.Thanks.

You don't actually have a right fan... so that's why you see that.  The application is designed to be used on all Macs.  The 15" Pros have two fans (not sure about the 13" Pro).  All of the MacBook Airs have a single fan.  Having said that, you should see your left fan spin up to a maximum of about 6,000 RPM under a heavy load.

I read your comment and I went to the link you provided; as I have a MacBook Pro (early 2011) I read several comments and saw another that https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/47386/macs-fan-control have better qualifications for the most recent O. S.

The thing is: I am new in all about fan control, so, how do I know the standard for the right fan performance? Do you know this application? Any advice you would have?

I guess it's been about a year, but the easiest way would be to just restart and hold down the 'D' key to run your laptop in diagnostic mode.  That will tell you if anything is wrong with your fans.  Just make sure that you don't have any USB or thunderbolt devices connected (ethernet should be fine).

Just the "D" key, or opt-D, or cmd-D?  I've seen variations around the web. Very confusing.
