iPod battery 5th gen

Have had the iPod (64Gb-9.3.5) for about 18 months or so & this has now happened a few times. The battery life up to this point has been great with no problems whatsoever, so I'm a bit puzzled as to why it has started. There are 28Gb of free space & things like bluetooth & other comms are turned off when I'm not using them. Location is permanently 'off' & the only thing that remains on is Wifi, which is always 'on'.

This drainage of the battery doesn't happen all the time, just now & again-so, as I say, a bit of a puzzle. Any ideas?

Hello  alex_h1 & thank you for your reply & the links. I'll have a look through them. I've had iPods before & this has never happened, so it's a first for me.
