iMac 21.5" Ethernet Stopped Working

iMac 21.5" - Mid 2011 [Core i5, 8GB Ram, 500GB Hard Disk]

 

Problem: Ethernet got hidden after installation of Mac Osx update forgot which update it was. Its been off since last 3-4 months.

 

Why I am saying its hidden is due to the following checks already done.

 

- When connected with ethernet wire it shows the green light which is symbol to successful connection.

 

- When connect with ethernet wire and if I use netstat it is giving a valid response.

 

- But Ethernet is not showing up on Network List. I cannot add ethernet option. in windows we can easily remove the driver of any hardware and reinstall it again.. how to do this on Mac....

 

 

Any possibilities which can bring back the Ethernet.. or any thing which I am missing.?

I would start by resetting your Mac's SMC & NVRAM, per the following articles:
