Edirol M

I have this lovely old digital mixer produced by Edirol (a Roland subsidiary no longer marketed) that I used for audio output on my Mac. Despite support from the manufacturer's side stopping at around OS 10.9, this setup worked well until my upgrade to Sierra. I am now on OS10.12.2 and have tried reinstalling the driver, checked cables etc. but nothing seems to work.

I was hoping someone out there might still have the same device and has maybe figured out a solution. Or maybe there is anything generic worth trying around Sierra and older OS audio interface issues. I'd be happy just to regain the audio output - no need for all the recording and DAW functionality.

Many thanks!

Hi!

Switch off system integrity protection and then install the latest driver again. For me this worked. How to switch off this new feature is described e.g. here: https://osxdaily.com/2015/10/05/disable-rootless-system-integrity-protection-mac- os-x/

If you do switch SIP off, don't forget to switch it back on when you're done.

I'm having the same issue here. I tried disabling the SIP and then installing the drivers. After the reboot the m16dx showed and worked. Then I enabled the SIP again and after the reboot it's not working again. What a shame...anyone having a solution without having the SIP disabled all the time?

Thanks!
