Cannot select calendars or address books to sync.

Select calendars and select address book are greyed out. Cannot select them in new ITunes on Yosemite.

same problem after importing addresses and calendars from old snow leopard applications. in high sierra on my new MBP 15" the new apps show my old data, no problem. in iTunes i can only select "all contacts" and "all calendars".

what gives ?
