13 inch MacBook Pro Heating up

I have recently brought a 13inch MacBook Pro. When using the MacBook on my laps I can feel that it little hot on the right side on the bottom than that of on that left side, also I can feel that fans on right works side but not on the left side. Is  this a normal condition. How man fans do this version of laptop has ?
