Edited photos in Camera Roll do not show in Pho...

Ipad air 2 wifi 128gb, available space 88.4GB, version 10.3.3 (14G60), model MH1J2C4A

2012 Mac book pro OS X 10.9.5 , Processor 2.3ghz, Memory 8gb, 1600mhz, ddr3

When I edit photos in Camera Roll on my ipad they do not show in my Photo Stream and therefore are not syncing with my Mac Book lap top. However if go to Photogene and edit and export them to my library they do go to Photo stream. While the editing feature in camera Roll is limited I in capability I can use it in 90 % of the cases saving time and there fore a much simpler method.

I would appreciate any suggestions on what I can do to make these edited photos from camera roll show up in photo stream.
