Why does Apple Watch only show 4 playlists?

Prior to the last Watch OS update, I could see all my iTunes playlists on my Apple Watch and quickly choose between them. After the update it only shows 4 of the 20+ playlists and there seems to be no way to modify that list.

As if that's not bad enough, the top of the display no longer shows the playlist name which you used to be able to tap to go back to the list of all playlists. Now it just shows iPhone and nothing is clickable except the progress circle or the forward and back buttons.

I need access to the playlists for my job as a dance teacher. Help!

Hi

Under watchOS 4.x, for controlling playback of music from your iPhone rather than the synced playlists on Apple Watch, then - other than by using Siri - it is necessary to first start playback on your iPhone before being able to control playback on your Apple Watch.

When you are already playing supported audio on your iPhone (whether via the Music app or a third-party app), the Now Playing app is shown automatically in the Dock on your Apple Watch and can be used to control playback on your iPhone. However, those controls no longer include the ability to browse or select playlists on your iPhone via screen-based inputs.

Follow the instructions here:

If the Music and/or Now Playing apps no longer offer all of the features that you would prefer, then you can submit a feature request to Apple here:
