Saving webpage as PDF

The MacBook Pro allows a webpage, being displayed to be saved as a PDF, by way of using the Print button. How can this be done on the iPad? The only choices seems to be to print it on paper, mail the link of the web page, send it as a message, or bookmark, copy or add it to a reading list.

Thank you.

Jay

Safari for iOS does not provide for saving webpages as PDFs. There may be alternate browser apps available in the app store that do however (iCab Mobile is one - although I beleive it uses a webarchive format or image  rather than PDF).

When a webpage is saved as a webarchive, is it viewable off line, or must there be an internet connection?

It should be viewable offline (but obviously any hyperlinks will not work).

Actually, the reading list function in Safari also can accomplish this (my apologies, forgot about it). In Safari, with the page in question open, tap the send to button (square withthe arrow in it, to the left of the address bar), and select Add to Reading List. The Reading list is accessed using the same mechanism as the bookmarks, just selct reading list from the lowever menu (looks like a pair of glasses).

The Safari section of the user guide has some additional information: https://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipad_user_guide.pdf

Thanks, James. Unfortunately, the Reading List function is malfunctioning on both my MacBook Pro and iPad. Nothing is appearing on either list, even though it was working, a few days ago on the MBP. And, when it did work, on the MBP, it didn't sync with the iPad.

But, now, neither list is appearing....just disappeared.

Do you have any thoughts on trouble-shooting this?

The reading List has two views: All and Unread (from the iPad; I'll need to check the OS from the MBP when I get home). Are you looking at the correct view? Sites taht have already been opened from Reading list will not show up in Unread.

Yes, James, I'm aware of the two views of the reading list.

Sorry if that sounded simplistic, but I have seen issues resolved by far more obvious things.

Only other thing I can suggest - if you are confident you have iCloud set up properly on both devices -  is to tune iCloud off on both and then turn it back on for both.

I would like to recommend you to try the online applications such as PDFy.net, Web2PDF, Webpage to PDF, HTM2PDF to save webpage as PDF. Simply, paste the url into the box and then tap convert button to save it.

In iOS 9 and 10, I'm able to save a webpage as PDF using: Safari > Share Sheet > Save PDF to iBooks.

EDIT to add -- didn't realize the OP was posted in 2013. I'm sure s/he knows this by now. : - )
