blocking a contact on multiple devices???

Hello,

Is it possible to block a contact (their phone, iMessage and email) across several Apple devices at once? Or does it have to be done individually in each app?

And when the blocked person sends a message are they notified they've been blocked or will they just be told the number/email is unreachable?
