Where is the column browser in iTunes 12.4.1.6?

Does anyone know where it went to?

I just updated my iTunes this morning and the column browser is gone. I looked online and looked in the iTunes help file. Which shows below and it what I found online. The Column Browser function is not in the View menu.

It seems like every time Apple updates iTunes, I have to re-learn and hunt to find the things I normally use.

1.

  1. Click Media picker pop-up menu near the top left of the iTunes window, then choose Music from the pop-up menu.
  2. Click My Music. My Music selected in the iTunes navigation bar
  3. Select Songs from the sidebar on the left.
  4. Choose View > Column Browser > Show Column Browser, and choose the columns you want to display. You can’t change the order of the columns.
  5. To use the column browser, select options in as many columns as you’d like.

I tried to past a print screen of my View menu, but it won't paste.

I just found it!

I guess I skipped this part:

  1. Select Songs from the sidebar on the left.

but I selected Songs in the Side Bar, THEN magically there is a Column Browser in the View menu.

I see two areas in your post where images ought to be but they haven't come through. First one is probably the abandoned mini menu which is no longer needed as the menu bar has been restored in 12.4/12.4.1 and can no longer be hidden. Ah, I followed the breadcrumbs to the online help.  As given you need to be viewing the current media source or playlist in the songs or other list based views first. You should then see View > Column Browser > Show Column Browser.

Ctrl+Shift+B will also show/hide the browser if you are in a view that supports it.

Thanks for your reply, I just viewed Music from the drop down, went to the 90's play list and tried the View menu, there is no Column Browser option in the View menu.

I can't paste a print screen from iTunes, here is the menu items under the View menu:

View

Media Kind

View As

Sort

By

Show View Options

Show Up Next

Hide Status Bar

Hide Sidebar

Video Playback (greyed out)

Visualizer

Full Screen (greyed out)

Show MiniPlayer

Show Equilizer

Show Activity Window

Swith to MiniPlayer

It is now simply "view as". I do share your sentiment that it's frustrating to have to re-learn how to use the app after every update. I also risk seriously messing up my meticulously organized itunes library.

Thank you, David. So easy when you know what to do.
