Hyper Drive Mac Book Pro not working?

Hi all,

Super curious if you can help me out.

I've bought this adapter:

But now this is going on:

- My sd card from my camera is not recognized on my Mac book pro, 13 inch 2016

- If camera is connected with a usb cable, Mac book will start importing photos (yay)

- A small usb stick is recognized

- My two external harddrives were previously visible, but now not anymore

- Charging through the adapter still works

- A new external harddrive, bought today, is also not recognized

Can anyone help me figuring out and fixing the problem with my external harddrives and sd card?
