What about leftover apps on my Mac?Mobile Appli...

After this update can the Mobile Applications folder under iTunes be deleted?  The update did not remove it and all of the apps contained in there.

Yes, you can delete the entire folder. It was not deleted for those users who want to retain apps that are, or may become no longer supported or may become unavailable in the App Store.

I would recommend keeping the Mobile Applications folder, or at least archiving it somewhere.  Sometimes apps are discontinued and removed from the app store, so if you ever get a new device, or restore an old one, such apps would no longer be installed on your device even if loading a backup.

By keeping the Mobile Applications folder, at least you can drag and drop discontinued apps to your device in the iTunes side bar.
