I have 2 Apple watches different activity.

My 7 plus broke and a received a replacement. After pairing my watches to my new phone the activity data doesn’t match up between watches. Throughout the day the one watch catches up to the other before I could switch between watches and the information was identical.  Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
