backup files in itunes seems to be gone

Don't know when I did a recent backup in itunes last, but for sure I know that I did one one-year ago because that is when I upgraded from a 5 to a 6 iphone. However I know need restore from itunes using the backup (or hopefully a performed a more recent one) because I do not have that phone anymore (Lost/Stolen) and need to restore to my replacement phone.

Mac Airbook is the same and is not use so often. So no deleting of files has gone on in the past.

Note: When i went to my itunes it said that I had to update to the current High Sierra Version (I was pre Sierra and many version behind) So with the help of Apple they showed me how to update. So I never did get into itunes before the upgrade or do a any backup just prior as Apple Rep did not suggest that to me as infrequent user.
