Apple Music service

Is there a way to keep the apple music separate from my iTunes on my mac, i have over 60000 songs that i worked real hard to establish. I do not want to risk loosing any music. i read a post in your forum that one user lost some of there music collection that they had purchased before they joined Apple Music when they decided to drop the subscription.
