Apple keyboard not working after update

Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad - US English does not work after updating to iOS 10.12.3 update. Tried restart, switching USB ports and switching USB ports the restarting.  Now using an Apple Magic Keyboard - US English. iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015), 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3, AMD Radeon R9 M390 2048 MB.

There's nothing in an update that should stop a keyboard from working. The fact that a different keyboard is functioning shows there is nothing wrong with the computer. If you have access to another computer - maybe a friends - either Mac or Windows - see if it works with that computer. I suspect it won't. Every once in a while two events coincide (such as the update and keyboard not working) and we jump to the conclusion that one caused the other. Sometimes that might be true, but other times it is just coincidence.



The keyboard works perfectly on my MacBook Pro( retina, 15 inch, Mid 2015, 2.8 Ghz Intel Core i7

Try putting a USB extension cord on it and plugging it in. I had the same problem with my USB Apple keyboard on my MacBook Pro. For some reason adding an extension to the USB cable fixed the problem. Please fix this Apple! It seems like a common problem.
