Restart has removed many apps including setting...

hello ther, my facebook was not working so I restarted my ipad , with the red slider, and half of my apps have been removed, including facebook, the App Store, mail, settings, they are not present in the search facility and have completely gone. Tried a reboot with the 2 buttons and still they are missing. The only pre installed app I have left is safari , no camera or anything else , I have never had this iPad plugged into my laptop and don't want to loose everything else , can anyone help? I've tried everything google can offer but without even having settings I'm lost! Thanks.

If you actually have the original iPad Mini, you can be running an iOS newer then 9.3.5. It is impossible to receive apps in iOS 9. If you have a newer iPad running iOS 10, you can download the pre installed apps as well as your purchased again in the App Store.

Remove built-in Apple apps from the Home screen on your iOS 10 device or Apple Watch - Apple Support

Restore a built-in app that you removed

  1. On your iOS device, go to the App Store.
  2. Search for the app. Make sure that you use the exact name of the app. Find the correct name of built-in apps.
  3. Tap to restore the app.
  4. Wait for the app to restore, then open it from your Home screen.

If you have an Apple Watch, restoring an app to your iPhone also restores that app to your Apple Watch.

For your purchased apps, go the purchased tab of the App Store and download the apps again.

Redownload music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books from the iTunes Store, iBooks Store, and App Store - Apple Support

It is an old ish iPad mini, I have no App Store and it is not recognised in the search function. Same as settings etc , everything has gone and can't be searched for . I don't know what iOs it was running on but definately not updated in a long time. I can't update now as there are no settings to go into.

Sometimes I hate auto correct. In my first post I meant to say it is impossible to delete the built in apps in any iOS version older then iOS 10. If you did a search and still cannot find the apps, you should probably do one of two things.

Plug it into your laptop, bite the bullet and restore it. If you have an iCloud backup, you can restore that after you restore the software.

Or if you live close to an Apple Store, make an appointment and have the iPad evaluated there.
