Remote Still Working, Even With Infrared Turned...

Hi everyone,

I recently updated my MacBook Pro to High Sierra, and since it happened, I have been having trouble with my Apple TV remote. Basically, when I use it to watch things on my Apple TV, my MacBook opens iTunes and begins playing music. My remote is controlling both my Apple TV and MacBook at the same time.

After some research on the Apple support communities, I saw the advice to turn off the infrared receiver through the security and privacy section of preferences. I did it, restarted my computer, but it didn't work - the remote is still controlling my MacBook. Are there any alternative ways I can disable the infrared receiver on my MacBook?
