iTunes not using HDMI for audio

I have a Windows Laptop (currently running Windows 10), and have a monitor plugged in. I have external speakers run through the monitor's headphone jack, making it easier to switch from my built in speakers to my external speakers. When I play music, even with Window settings sending audio through HDMI, iTunes keeps using my built in speakers. And yes, my HDMI audio is set as the default audio device. This problem is within the iTunes program, and not a problem with my PC/Hardware.
