why are my music files syncing so slow?

My music files are syncing very slow to my phone.  Is there a way to make them sync faster?  I've synced over 7000 songs pretty fast on my laptop a month or so ago.  I am doing it on my desktop now and and its so slow.  Ive been syncing over 7000 songs onto my phone for nearly 3 hours and its only at 540 songs......any suggestions?

128 kbps by the way.....
