How do I get my iTunes card to work

I need help getting my iTunes card to work and purchase Apple music

Go to iTunes main page bottom of page Redeem card.

I did do that I’ve redeemed the money but can’t figure out how to use it to purchase stuff. It keeps trying to make me pay with my debit card
