Skype problem with OS X 10.8.5

My laptop is MAC OS X 10.8.5 but to use Skype I need MAC OS X 10.9.

I've looked all over for this download but I'm unsure which one to use. I don't have Maverick or

Lion, it simply says Software OS X 10.8.5. Thanks for any advice.

I am on 10.8.5 as well. It would be nice if someone could answer this question. Skype has stopped supporting anything before 10.9 and I cant upgrade my OS without breaking lots of $oftware. It's extremely ridiculous of skype to make it this difficult to use a voice application. Skype is not that special to NEEEEED 10.9 so if anyone out there has a workaround for making a version of Skype work on OS10.8.5, Please reply!!

Your profile indicates your MacBook Air is from mid-2012.  If this is correct, you can (and should) use the current version of MacOS, known as Sierra (MacOS 10.12.6).

And I strongly suggest you keep all your Apple software current from now on.  Realize that OS X 10.8 is now four years old.

The question is about how to make Skype work with what we currently have. Telling us to upgrade like we're idiots that don't know about 'upgrading' is not helpful. I can't upgrade my OS without breaking lots of $oftware, as previously mentioned. "I strongly suggest" you read before replying with pretentious advice about staying current. I need a solution that works with what I have. Not advice that costs thousands of dollars in software upgrades to implement.

I found this website with older versions of Skype. If you download 6.9.0.701 it should work with your system.
