How to uninstall watch os 4?

Since updating my iPhone 7 Plus to iOS 11 and watch to OS 4, my watch has been acting buggy. Battery life is draining at warp speed, frequently the watch will activate do not disturb mode on its own. I have it set to sync do not disturb with my phone and often when I activate it on my phone, the watch does not correspond. Also, the watch will lock itself while I’m wearing it as if I have taken the watch off my wrist. I would like to rollback my watch software, does anyone know how to do so? iOS 11.0 hasn’t been without hiccups, but nothing as consistently troublesome as the watch. Thank you.

Hi

watchOS cannot be downgraded.

Battery life

Battery life varies depending on use and other factors. Examples are detailed here:

Apple's tips for maximising battery life on Apple Watch are detailed here:

It may help to follow these steps, which have previously resolved battery life issues for other users, including after software updates when usage has not otherwise changed (check after each):

  • If you have ever (not necessarily recently) previously used the Workout app and/or any third-party fitness or sleep tracking apps to record workouts on your watch, check on your watch to see whether there is a paused activity within any of them. If there is, end that activity from within the app on your watch (not your iPhone).
    • If in doubt, remove any such third-party apps from your Apple Watch.

  • Unpair and re-pair your Apple Watch:

  • Some users have previously experienced battery life issues in connection with using corporate profiles and/or Exchange Calendars. If you are using an Exchange Calendar, one or more of these steps may help:
    • Archive your Exchange Calendar for all items before today.
    • Remove / delete all old inbox messages relating to calendar invites (accept and decline notifications).
    • Create a rule in your Outlook Mail account that moves all future accept and decline replies, immediately upon receipt, into a separate mail folder that does not sync with your iPhone and Apple Watch.
    • Check your Exchange Calendar for errors.

Unexpected locking

If you are not yet doing so, you might wish to use these settings:

  • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Passcode - turn on Wrist Detection.
  • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Passcode > Turn Passcode on.
  • Also on the Passcode settings screen, enable Unlock with iPhone.

After putting it on your wrist, your Apple Watch will then unlock after whatever you do first: either unlocking your watch manually (by entering the passcode) or unlocking your iPhone. It will then remain unlocked (including when the screen is asleep) until you remove it from your wrist. When you remove your Apple Watch, it will lock automatically.

With these settings enabled, if your Apple Watch locks unexpectedly, then the following steps may help:

  • Check that you are not wearing your Apple Watch too loosely:
    • If worn too loosely, your Apple Watch may believe that it has been removed from your wrist, causing it to lock automatically.
    • For the best performance, ensure that you are wearing your watch sufficiently snugly on the top of your wrist:

  • Check whether passcode-related restrictions are enabled on your iPhone:
    • Any passcode restrictions that have been set on the paired iPhone (via a corporate configuration profile, mobile device management or Exchange policy) also affect Apple Watch.
    • If your iPhone is managed in this way, contact your device administrator for assistance.

  • Unpair and re-pair your Apple Watch:

Do Not Disturb

With mirroring of the mode enabled, if Do Not Disturb settings from your iPhone are not being reflected on your Apple Watch, then it may help to check that the devices are connected.

For the best performance from your iPhone and Apple Watch, including the most power-efficient communication between them, Apple recommends keeping both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi permanently enabled on your iPhone:

In respect of unexpected activation of the mode, it may help to follow the restarting and unpairing / re-pairing steps suggested previously in this reply.

All

Having tried the previous steps, if the issues persist, then I suggest contacting Apple Support (remote diagnostics and/or mail-in service may be available, if required), making a Genius Bar reservation or visiting an Apple Authorised Service Provider for assistance:
